Superintendent

Bill Long, Ed.D., came to Center Grove Schools in 1998, when he was selected to be an assistant principal at Center Grove High School. In 2001, after serving as the interim principal at Center Grove High School, he was selected as the principal. Three years later, he was selected as assistant superintendent for operations.

Dr. Long started his education career as a Graphic Arts and Photography teacher at New Castle Chrysler High School in New Castle, Indiana. He also coached football and wrestling, while serving as the Junior Class Sponsor and Director of Intramurals.

Dr. Longis a1982 graduateof Indiana State University with a B.S. in Industrial Technology, In 1998, he completed his dissertation; “A Retrospective Study of the Class of 1995”: a Statistical Portrait of a Large-Town Midwestern School Corporation” and received his doctorate in Education Leadership from Indiana University.

He and his wife Laurie have five children; Elizabeth, Meredith, Derek, Hilary and Madeline (all graduates of Center Grove High School), four grandchildren; Eli, Nolan, Violet and Lily, and a English Cream golden retriever, Millie. In their spare time, Dr. Long and Laurie love to travel, read, walk, or just sit on the beach.

JASONTAYLOR, EDD
Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations

Jason Taylor, Ed.D.,is Center Grove’s Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations. He returned to Center Grove to serve as the district’s Chief Technology Officer in June 2014. Prior to that, Taylor served as the Data Integration Manager from 2008-2011.

Dr. Taylor started his career in education technology in the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation. He also served in corporation leadership roles for the Decatur County Community School Corporation and the Monroe County Community School Corporation. Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a dual license in Social Studies and Technology Education from Franklin College. Taylor holds a master’s degree in Education from Indiana University and a master’s degree in Strategic Management from the Kelley School of Business. Taylor earned his specialist’s degree from Indiana University in 2019 and his doctorate from Oakland City University in 2023.

LYNN SIMMERS, PHD
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning

Lynn Simmers, Ph.D., is Center Grove’s Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning. She previously served as the Assistant Superintendent of Southwest Allen County Schools in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her 30-year career in education started in Manchester Community Schools in North Manchester, Indiana where she taught 6th Grade.

Dr. Simmershas served as assistant principal, athletic director, and principal in Warsaw Community Schools, Northwest Allen County Schools, and Dekalb County Central Schools before moving to Southwest Allen County Schools. She has served as Southwest Allen’s Assistant Superintendent since 2014. Simmers holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Manchester College, a master’s degree in Education Administration from Indiana/Purdue University Fort Wayne, and a doctorate in Educational Administration from Indiana State University.

Khailey Brown is Center Grove’s Executive Director of Human Resources. She previously served as the district’s Director of Elementary Special Education since August 2021. Brown moved to Center Grove in February 2018 when she was named the Coordinator of Special Education.

Brown started her career in education as a teacher at RISE Learning Center in Perry Township. She then taught special education for grades 6-8 in Manhattan Beach, CA before moving to Noblesville Schools where she taught gifted and talented for grade 5 and behavior support and adaptive skills for grades K-5. She moved to Clark Pleasant Community Schools to serve as Program Support, working alongside administrators and teachers to support and grow special education programming, before coming to Center Grove. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a dual license in Mild and Intense interventions, Director of Exceptional Needs licensure, and master’s degrees in both Special Education and Education Leadership, all from Indiana University.

Christy Berger is Center Grove’s Executive Director of Student Services. She previously served as the district’s Director of School Counseling and Mental Health since May of 2021. Prior to that she served as the Director of Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Wellness for the Indiana Department of Education.

Berger previously worked in Center Grove for nine years, first as a School Social Worker at North Grove Elementary and then School Counselor at Center Grove Middle School Central. Berger holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Anderson University, a master’s in social work from IUPUI, and a master's in School Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan. She is a Licensed Social Worker.

Stacy Conrad is the Executive Director of Communications for the Center Grove Community School Corporation. Conrad worked in news media for 20 years before moving into the communications side of the media industry. She holds two Emmy Awards for television news producing. Conrad began her career in radio news in northern Indiana, before moving to Indianapolis to work for the statewide Network Indiana radio news network as a news anchor/reporter and wire service editor. She then moved to WISH-TV where she spent 15 years in various roles, including producing daily newscasts, directing daily news coverage as the executive producer, and eventually overseeing the newsroom as the assistant news director.

Conrad holds two Emmy Awards for television news producing. She has also worked as news director for 93.1 WIBC-FM and Network Indiana in Indianapolis and as a senior account manager for an Indianapolis advertising and public relations company. She is a member of the Indiana School Public Relations Association (INDSPRA) and serves as theorganization's webmaster. Mrs. Conrad has a bachelor of arts in Political Science and Electronic Mediafrom the University of Indianapolis. She and her husband, Kevin, have three sons, all graduates of Center Grove High School.

Shannon Carroll-Frey has served as an administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She moved into her current position as Director of Secondary Teaching & Learning in 2016. Prior to that, she was the principal of Center Grove Elementary School. Sheserved for four years as principal of Arlington Elementary in Monroe County Schools, following seven years as assistant principal at Jackson Creek Middle School, also in Monroe County. Before moving to Monroe County, she was the academic assistant principal at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis. She started her career as a science teacher at East Middle School in Martinsville before moving to Fall Creek Valley Middle School in Lawrence Township.

Mrs. Carroll-Frey holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education/general science and a master’s degree in education administration, both from Butler University. She, her husband, David Frey, have two daughters who attend Center Grove schools.

Kristin Rodman is Center Grove’s Director of Elementary Special Education. Prior to this role, Rodmanserved for four years as the principal of Sugar Grove Elementary School. Under her leadership Sugar Grove was named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School. She also served as assistant principal for Center Grove Elementary for three years andat Center Grove Middle School Central where she was a special education teacher and later dean of students.

Rodman holds a bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Need-Severe Interventions and a master’s degree in Education Administration and Supervision, both from Ball State. She and her husband, Matt, have two children who attend Center Grove schools.

Amy Selby is Center Grove’s Director of Secondary Special Education. She previously served as the Executive Director of Exceptional Learners at Hamilton Southeastern Schools, a position she has held since July 2021. She started her education career as a special education teacher. She taught in both the MSD of Pike Township and Mooresville Schools before moving into administration. She has served as Director of Special Education for Crawfordsville Schools and West Central Indiana Special Services Cooperative.

Dr. Brent Kinsey is Center Grove’s Coordinator of Connected Learning. He started in this position in July of 2023.Kinsey started his educational career in the Shenandoah School Corporation as a middle school language arts teacher, and he continued in this role for 15 years. During this time, he was also very involved in coaching basketball and football at the high school level.

He then moved to be the Principal at Shenandoah Elementary School and worked in that position for 12 years. Kinsey is a 1993 graduate of Purdue University with a B.A. in Physical and English Education. He went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Ball State University, and then he earned his Ph.D. in Education Administration in 2018 from Indiana State University. Kinsey and his wife Amber have four gown children. The family loves to travel and spend time at the lake or at the beach.

AMANDA TRIMBLE, Special Programs Coordinator

Amanda Trimble is Center Grove’s Special Programs Coordinator. She’s held her current position since 2017. Some of her responsibilities include high ability and multilingual district programming.

Previously she served as an administrator at both Maple Grove Elementary and CG Middle School North. Trimble transitioned to teaching and started her career in education as an elementary teacher for Noblesville Schools. Her teaching experience includes K, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. Trimble then became a K-5 Literacy Instructional Coach where she supported teachers implementing best practices into their instruction. She then had the opportunity to support teachers at the secondary level as a district Instructional Coach. In 2014, she left Noblesville and was hired at Maple Grove Elementary as an assistant principal. Trimble holds a bachelor’s degree in Management of Criminal Justice, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and a High Ability endorsem*nt.

MEAGHAN KRUKEMEIER, MA, Coordinator of School Counseling

Meaghan Krukemeier moved into the Coordinator of School Counseling role in July 2024. Prior to this role, Meaghan served for fiveyears as the Director of Guidance, and fouryears as a school counselor for Center Grove High School. She started her career in education as a high school Biology and Chemistry teacher in Belleville, IL. In 2023, Krukemeier was one of two educators in the state to win an Indiana Departmentof Education Collaborative Educator Excellence Award, which recognizes educators for their collaboration with partners to improveopportunities for students.

Krukemeier holds a bachelor's degreein Biology from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree in professional school counseling from Lindenwood University. She and her husband live in the Center Grove area with their son and daughter who are both Center Grove students.

Valarie Miller, R.D.N. is the Director of Food & Nutrition Services at Center Grove. She oversees the district's participation in the USDA's National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. Her role ensures that the programs meet all requirements and that students have access to nutritious meals that support their exceptional educational experience.

Miller began her career in school nutrition at Center Grove as the Food & Nutrition Services assistant director. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Health Sciences, Dietetics, from Indiana University.

Sarah Pitts joined Center Grove as Director of Transportation in April 2019. Mrs. Pitts has served as the Transportation Coordinator at Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation for3.5 years. She is a 1997 graduate of Purdue University where she earned a bachelor's degree in Management from the Krannert School of Business. She lives in Franklin with her husband and four children.

Darrell Thompson is Center Grove’s Director of Facilities. He previously served as Warren Township’s Assistant Director of Facilities and as their Head Baseball Coach. Thompsonbegan his career in the US Navy where he was trained as a Boiler Technician and served on both the USS Austin and the USS William C. Lawe. He has been a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) since 1999 and has earned their Operations & Performance Management Professional Certification.

Amy Norman,BSN, RN, NCSN,has served as Center Grove’s health services coordinator since April 2018. Before joining Center Grove, she worked as an RN for a home health company and Community Hospital South.

Norman is a graduate of Center Grove High School and received a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Indiana University – Bloomington. She went back to school in 2012 and earned her Bachelor Science of Nursing degree through the accelerated nursing program in December 2013 at Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis. Norman became a nationally certified school nurse in 2022. Norman has four sons: two of whom have graduated from Center Grove and two who currently attend Center Grove High School. Her husband, Adam, also is a Center Grove graduate.

RAY JACKSON, Chief of Police

Chief Jackson serves as the Chief of Center Grove's Police Department. Hegraduated at the top of his class from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy (Class 329) in 2002. He also received the Physical Fitness Honorary Recruit award. Jackson spent several years with the LA County Sheriff's Department, where he worked custody and patrol and was a member of the Emergency Response Team.

Jackson moved to Indiana to work for the Fishers Police Department where he spent 5 years as patrol officer. During that time, he spent 2 1/2 years as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Hamilton Southeastern HS, was a member of the S.W.A.T. sniper team, and taught D.A.R.E to elementary students. Jackson is also a special investigator and has worked corporate fraud cases over the years.

Chief Jackson graduated from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. He attended Washington State University where he earned a bachelor of arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology.
